This is a little different from the scope of what we normally post on SuRu, but we stumbled upon this artist Mia Mor in Awaken Café in downtown Oakland, and we couldn't help but share. The works are mixed media, photographs of yogis with layers of paint and colored vinyl electrical tape. Up close, the details and textures are incredible. For SuRu, yoga and meditation are powerful body tools to stay cool, calm and collected, and we fully support that quest for inner peace. Mia Mor's "Shine" will live at Awaken Café until March 5, so if in Oakland, check 'em out!
